Wonderful, authentic English pub decor as well as GREAT food. My friends and I like to frequent Thursday's steak night. I love the patio and the staff is always attentive. These must be the cleanest bathrooms of any pub in town as well. Very welcoming place and enjoy it every time I'm there. I would recommend the Red Lion to anyone.

I am British, and have worked in the U.S.A. for 10 years now, and I have tried almost every imaginable American Version of a British bar in my vast travels, and without doubt this is the most realistic version of an OLD British Village pub. The range and quality of the British beers and the british type foods, including my Favourite "Fish and Chips", chips made from Real Potatoes as well mind you, was on my latest visit "Heaven on earth". My other friends, 3 British and one French, agreed with my comments wholeheartedly. We can't wait to go back again. If we had any comments at all it would be, move this bar about 20 miles west so we didn't have so far to drive. We do however ensure we have a "Designated Driver" Next time we may visit Mid Week for your Curry Night. Keep up the good work "Red Lion".

I have been coming since it opened and love this place. My girlfriends and I can enjoy a glass of good wine and food in a nice atmosphere, Very local---as to the guy complaining about a party of 20 on a busy night...bet he just showed up with no notice and expected a miracke, Some times you can never make people happy. This place goes over and above from my view,

Great Good Good So So Good
I am somewhat biased to the good side of this emporium since the owner (from Yorkshire) was so in love with himself (ex male model) that he would not talk with me but constantly scanned the room for something more interesting as we superficially spoke. He would have been thumped for such a transgression in the old country. Nevertheless - good beer and a nice curry. The busty blonde barmaid had about the same personality as the owner but I will return to sample the beef wellington - a great menu addition and I commend them for upscale items such as this.

Great Good So So Good Good
Fish and Chips were greasy. And for the price, the portion was too small. Beer cold and served quickly and barmaid friendly ans pretty. Music was terrible (and it wasn't just me, a few other patrons at the bar were unhappy with Frank Sinatra as well), a witress told me the owner likes this music...go figure. Several customers left unhappy while we were there. I judged the food was not up to their expectations. Very friendly and busty hostess. Maybe I'll try them again.....without Frank!

Awesome! Great Great Great Awesome!
After living in the UK for several years, this place if a breath of fresh air...great tasting, real beer served in a real pint glass..high quality pub food,surrounded by brits, I forgot I was in Houston. The bathrooms were incredibly clean (this would be hard to find in a real English pub). I will definately be going back..this place beats the other pubs I've been in in Houston. It's less snobby and a lot more friendly than the Black Labrador..better food and a better selection and price on the brew.
